How Aurora Bail Co. Works for You
From the first phone call to release from custody, our licensed bail agents walk you through every step with discretion, transparency, and 24/7 availability. Here's exactly what to expect.
Four steps from arrest to release
Most defendants are released within 4–12 hours of posting bond. Here's the typical timeline when you work with Aurora Bail Co. — every case is different, but the workflow below covers 95% of situations we handle across Aurora County.
Call & Consult
Reach us 24/7 at (303) 555-0182. Tell us where your loved one is being held, the charges, and the bond amount set by the court. We'll quote premium and explain your options on the spot — no obligation.
5–10 minSign the Agreement
Meet with our licensed agent (in person, at the facility, or digitally). You'll sign the indemnity agreement, review the co-signer responsibilities, and choose a payment plan. We accept cash, card, ACH, and collateral.
30–60 minPost the Bond
Our agent posts the full bond with the Aurora County Detention Center or whichever jurisdiction is holding your loved one. We'll coordinate directly with the jail — you don't have to wait in line or navigate clerk's office hours.
1–3 hoursRelease & Follow-Up
Once the jail processes the bond, your loved one is released — typically within 4–12 hours of posting. We follow up with court date reminders, check-in instructions, and any paperwork needed for the premium refund upon case resolution.
2–8 hoursImportant: Bond amounts are set by a judge, not by Aurora Bail Co. We cannot lower the bond, but we can post it on your behalf, structure affordable payments, and in many cases move faster than the family could on their own. View our full pricing & premium guide.
What you're actually agreeing to
A bail bond is a financial contract. Before you co-sign, here's exactly what's expected of you — and what happens if the defendant misses a court date. We believe in full disclosure upfront.
Your core responsibilities
By signing the indemnity agreement, you're promising the court — and us — that the defendant will appear at every scheduled hearing. Here's what that looks like in practice:
-
Ensure every court appearance You are financially liable for the full bond amount if the defendant fails to appear. Help them get to every hearing on time.
-
Keep us informed of changes If the defendant changes address, phone, or employment, you must notify Aurora Bail Co. within 24 hours so we can update the court file.
-
Pay the premium in full The premium (typically 10% in Colorado) is non-refundable — it's the cost of the service. The full bond is returned by the court only if all conditions are met.
-
Provide accurate ID & proof of address You'll need a valid government-issued ID, a utility bill or bank statement, and basic information about the defendant (DOB, charges, facility).
-
Ask questions — no surprises If anything in the contract is unclear, ask our agent before signing. We translate every clause into plain English. No fine print, no hidden fees.
What if they don't show up?
A failure to appear (FTA) triggers a bench warrant and puts the co-signer at financial risk. Here's how we work with you to prevent that — and what happens in the worst case:
-
We send court reminders Text + email reminders go out 72 hours and 24 hours before every scheduled hearing. We also track docket changes that may shift dates.
-
Grace period & surrender support If the defendant misses a date, contact us immediately. We can often arrange a voluntary surrender — which keeps the co-signer's liability lower than a fugitive recovery.
-
Full bond becomes due If the defendant remains a fugitive, Aurora Bail Co. is liable to the court for 100% of the bond. We may pursue recovery from the co-signer, including any posted collateral.
-
Collateral is protected when possible When collateral is used (real estate, vehicles), we work to release it once the case is resolved — even if it took years. We are not in the business of taking family property.
Bottom line: 97% of bonds posted by Aurora Bail Co. resolve without forfeiture. We achieve that through proactive reminders, accessible agents, and treating every family with the seriousness they deserve.

Answers to what families ask us most
If your question isn't below, call us anytime at (303) 555-0182. There is no such thing as a silly question at 2 a.m.
How long does release from jail actually take?
After we post the bond, the jail typically processes and releases the defendant within 4–12 hours, depending on facility workload, time of day, and whether intake/medical clearance is complete. Aurora County Detention Center averages 6 hours. We monitor the process and will call you the moment your loved one is released.
What information do I need to start?
For the fastest service, have ready: (1) the defendant's full legal name and date of birth, (2) the facility they're being held at, (3) the booking or case number if you have it, and (4) the charges if known. For the co-signer, you'll need a valid government-issued ID and a recent proof of address. That's it — we handle the rest.
Is the 10% premium refundable?
The premium you pay Aurora Bail Co. is the fee for our service and is non-refundable once the bond is posted. This is standard across the bail industry in Colorado. However, the full bond amount is returned by the court to us after the case is resolved — which is why co-signers are never responsible for that larger sum if the defendant appears at all hearings.
Do you handle bonds outside Aurora County?
Yes. We are licensed statewide in Colorado and can post bonds in any of the 64 counties. For jurisdictions outside Aurora County, there may be a small travel coordination fee or a transfer to one of our partner agents — we'll always disclose that on the initial call, before you sign anything.
Can a co-signer be someone other than a family member?
Absolutely. Co-signers can be a friend, employer, clergy member, or any adult with stable income, valid ID, and U.S. residency. The co-signer does not need to be related to the defendant — they simply need to be willing to take financial responsibility for ensuring court appearances. We see employers post bonds for workers, and romantic partners post for one another, all the time.
What happens after the case is fully resolved?
Once the case is dismissed, the defendant is found not guilty, or sentencing is complete (and all conditions met), we file a discharge of bond with the court. The court then returns the full bond amount to us, any collateral is released back to the co-signer within 30–60 days, and your obligation ends. We send a written confirmation when the bond is fully exonerated.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Aurora Bail Co. operates with strict discretion. We do not disclose case information to third parties without written authorization. Court records are public, but your interactions with us — financial, personal, communications — are protected. We do not market to you, sell your data, or share with outside agencies.
